The room was spacious with a great view, but the bathroom was poorly designed.

River beside the hotel adds a picturesque touch, creating a lovely backdrop for relaxation. The breakfast spread offers a good variety, including fresh fruits and pastries that set a nice tone for the day.
The king room we booked fell short of expectations, as it overlooked the car park instead of the advertised river view. There was also a lack of daily room servicing unless requested, which was not what we anticipated for a multi-night stay. the fire alarm went off with no staff present to manage the situation, leading to a frustrating wait outdoors. Despite the somewhat charming surroundings, there was an odd smell and heating issues that made for an uncomfortable experience.

Consider requesting breakfast items in advance for a smoother morning experience, as some dishes need pre-ordering the night before.

Beautiful location with fantastic breakfast
Our stay was incredibly enjoyable, with the riverside setting providing the perfect backdrop to our morning coffee and delightful cream tea every afternoon. The breakfast was a highlight, featuring freshly cooked options that catered to all tastes. The staff were genuinely warm and eager to assist, making us feel right at home. One minor downside was the lack of an on-site restaurant, requiring a bit of travel for dinner options.

Had an amazing group vacation with friends! We enjoyed delightful afternoon tea every day and were thrilled to have access to the outdoor terrace overlooking the river. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend checking out the sister hotel for a fantastic meal!
The room was smaller than expected, and we struggled with suitcase space by keeping them on the floor.

Three couples enjoyed a lovely week in a spacious cottage with stunning views and a cozy open fire. While the seating arrangement was insufficient for six guests, the clean amenities and attentive staff made up for it. A few maintenance issues needed addressing, and a vacuum and washing machine would have been beneficial, but these were minor inconveniences in an otherwise pleasant stay.

missingWrote a review on 04 Auglocal attractionsquiet ambianceextensive amenitieslack of privacy
Great access to local attractions with a peaceful ambiance perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors. The room featured extensive amenities including two double wardrobes and a desk/dressing table, making it easy to settle in comfortably.
Even though I booked a superior room, I found the view lacking, as I faced a rather uninspiring car park. The ensuite felt unwelcoming due to the absence of heating and privacy issues caused by glass doors. Poor light management impacted my sleep, with fixtures left on all night until I was eventually able to bring it up the next morning. If you fancy a restaurant on-site, be ready to hike to the sister hotel. it’s a bit of a hassle when you’re craving a meal or drink. A breakfast served in self-service style meant I had to manage my own tea but there was quality food when it finally arrived.

The atmosphere felt warm, with excellent coffee and tea available throughout the day. The scones offered in the afternoon were a delightful touch that made our time feel even more special.
Minor room cleanliness issues detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.
